As well as the obvious health and safety (as well as work-place comfort) benefits of a water based system over a solvent-based one, Glassohyd’s polymer-based construction also offers the window manufacturer other advantages.

Since the polymer binder particles are much smaller than acrylic binder molecules, Glassohyd offers great protection against blue stain by its depth of penetration, as they get deep down into the timber. This means a greater degree of saturation and, therefore, adhesion.

Another benefit is that less timber fibres rise once the polymer primer has been applied. This means that less time is required in sanding before the top coat is applied, AND less top coat is required
